SASSA Grants Increased from April 2024 Onwards

SASSA announced to increase the grant this April for the citizens of South Africa. The hierarchy of social development is thrilled to announce the extension of the SASSA Social Relief Distress (SRD) Grant. It is effective from March 14th, 2024 to ending in March 2025.  Senior Citizens Pension

Applicants must be the resident of South Africa or the age of 60 years or older, and not receive any grant from themselves. To qualify for this grant you need to pass the test based on your income and savings. A monthly grant will support individuals who have reached retirement age.

Differently-abled

 Differently-abled applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 59 years and a permanent resident of South Africa and meet the eligible criteria of SASSA Grant. This Grant is provided for those who are unable to work due to disabaility.

Child Support Grant 

The child must be under the age of 18 years old, and their caregivers are the resident of South Africa.Caregivers  must  pass the test to prove that they are deserving. So, the grant assists their parents for the basic needs of their childrens. 

Foster Grant 

The child must be officially placed in foster care through a court order and their parents must be a  foster citizen of South Africa or a refugee. There is no need for a  test for  this Grant and  this grant is only provided to the caregivers if the child is placed in foster care. 

Medical Grant 

The child must be under 18 years old and have a severe disability, and need full care assistance. So, their parents must pass the test or become a permanent resident of South Africa. This Grant is provided to the parents of the child who are diagnosed through any physical or mental disorder.

War Veterans Grant 

Applicants must be Veterans of war over the age of 60 and have physical or mental disorder and must be a permanent resident of South Africa. This Grant assists veterans of war who are disabled.

Grant-In-Aid

This grant is provided to those who are already receiving a grant from SASSA ( except for the child receiving aid) and need full time work attendance on behalf of others due to their physical or mental condition. This grant is provided on a daily basis to those who are suffering from physical or mental disorders.
